Equal opportunities for women at workplaces will push Make in India

The recent study by McKinsey Global Institute says that India could increase its GDP by 16 per cent to 60 per cent by enabling women to participate in the economy on the same footing as men. Government’s Make in India campaign can only be realised if women take equal participation in manufacturing sector rather than focusing solely on white-collar work-places. To increase women employees in the country, the revised Bill of the Factories Act has been proposed to provide better safety to women employees, enabling women to work after 7 pm in blue-collar shop floors.
