Make in India: L&T outguns global rivals to bag $760 million Indian Army deal

The domestic manufacturer Larsen and Toubro has been assigned to provide 100 self-propelled artillery guns to the Indian Army, beating global manufacturers from across the world who had submitted their entries for the deal as well. Under the deal, the company will be making the Vajra, which would be the first new artillery gun to be produced in India suitable for operation in the desert areas bordering Pakistan.
