Tirupati on ‘Make in India’ map as Indian, Chinese handset cos check in

After the recent announcements by companies like Xiaomi, Gionee, One Plus and Asus to make mobile handsets in Andhra Pradesh, India, a bunch of other companies and some more investors from across the border will soon enter the mobile manufacturing arena by investing around $307 million to manufacture handsets as well as components. Domestic players like Micromax, Karbonn, Lava and Celkom and a Chinese firm Vikin Communications will soon announce its plans for manufacturing at the proposed hub in Tirupati in AP.
